Hydrex Bike Animal - Kieran Clarke Introduction

Kieran Clarke is without doubt one of the new breed of young dynamic riders of this new generation of racing.

The son of Stephen Clarke a former national and international 350cc and 750cc road racer in the late 70s and early 80s, and Stephens younger brother Adrian Clarke a former 250cc British championship ace. It was no surprise to everyone that Kieran had his first motorcycle on his 2nd birthday and was to follow in the family footsteps.

After his first motocross race in 1993 it was only 2 years later he won his first selection of British youth championships. Following 1995 Kieran spent the next 5 years racing for Honda UK collecting more British titles along the way.

The first full season of Kieran’s pro motocross career was to be short lived at the first round of the British masters pro 125cc championship as he twisted his knee resulting in a career ending ligament injury. Despite only completing 1 flying lap of the qualifying session he posted 5th fastest, only dropping by a few places over the 30 minute session against some of the worlds best.

After major reconstructive surgery to fix his damaged knee it was an easy decision to change discipline to the less physically demanding motorcycle sport, in the form of Road Racing.

It only took the dedicated young professional 2 years to rise up through the ranks of the sport to earn himself a semi factory Yamaha ride in the British superbike championship the toughest domestic championship regarded only second to Moto GP . Kieran responded to the hype over the next few years concreting himself as a top young superbike racer with bags of potential.

Through which time Kieran has had to show maturity and patience beyond his years to contend with hampered progress and interrupted seasons through serious injury and extreme technical and mechanical failures. No matter what team he rides for or whatever obstacles stand in front of him, Kieran takes his passion and constant drive to the race track each week with the dedicated and long term vision of becoming world champion.
